Views of Nature Photography

Burrowing owls are small, long-legged, diurnal birds on the prairies and grasslands of the Americas. They are found from near the tip of South America to the northern plains of North America, nesting and roosting in prairie dog burrows. Burrowing owls typically hunt in the morning and evening to avoid the heat of the day. These images were made just north of Denver International Airport in the spring.
