Big Horn Sheep

Big horn sheep (Ovis canadensis) are one of three wild sheep species found in North America. The other two are Desert Big Horns found in the southwest and Dall sheep found in Alaska and Northern Canada. The images below are rams photographed in the Front Range of the Rockies. Big Horns spend most of their time higher up in the mountains but come down to lower elevations late in the year for breeding.
